Rush Limbaugh is all in a tizzy again, this time because President Obama wants to reduce America's number of deployed of nuclear weapons by up to 80%. Rush calls this plan "staggering," and deliberately uses the words "regime" and obviously drops Obama's middle name - Hussein - into the conversation as well. What Rush is signaling here is that Obama is a man with foreign intentions, a double agent trying to weaken America by taking away its weapons. 
I truly enjoy and respect everything about Rush Limbaugh. Rush is a man who knows what he believes and says what he thinks. Both are critically important not only to his success, but the mental well-being of his listeners. Very seldom does Rush hesitate when expressing his opinion. Indeed, Limbaugh seems to make statements that are intentionally impolitic or insensitive just for the shock factor. I patently do not believe this to be correct. In talking about the Susan G. Komen Foundation/Planned Parenthood dust-up, Rush Limbaugh once again asserted the falsehood that "abortion is a leading cause of breast cancer." It isn't, and even those who once believed that it was, never believed that it was a "leading cause." But since when did Rush Limbaugh ever let the facts get in his way? Since never. 
Rush Limbaugh is outraged that the Susan G. Komen foundation bowed to public pressure and agreed to not revoke funds to Planned Parenthood. Of course, in Rush Limbaugh's mind, Planned Parenhood is the evil puppet master orchestrating all of the public outcry. And they are an abortion factory. 
Limbaugh has really kicked off 2012 with a bang. The very topic of Barack Obama has had Limbaugh all in a tizzy ever since 2008, but he recently just came right out and said it: Rush Limbaugh believes that Obama is deliberately destroying America as retaliation, due to "his inherent belief that the country was immorally and illegitimately founded by a very small minority of white Europeans who screwed everybody else since the founding to get all the money and the goodies, and it's about time the scales were made even." 
Interesting, right? Every time Rush Limbaugh opens his yap to start sarcastically blathering on about Obama's latest vacation plans, I am reminded of an interesting statistic: George W. Bush spent more time on vacation than any contemporary president. 
Media watchdog organization Media Matters has nominated Rush Limbaugh their "Climate Change Misinformer of the Year." This is an excellent title, because it points out that Limbaugh doesn't just DENY the existence of climate change. He actively MISINFORMS his audience about it. 
I'm prepared to accept that Rush Limbaugh himself may not be a racist person. But as an older white dude from the South, he sure does say a lot of racist things. And his followers, who I am certain are mostly racist, really eat that stuff up with a spoon. (Which is no doubt why he says them in the first place.) 
Rush Limbaugh is constantly claiming that he is not racist. And I believe that HE believes that. But I also believe that he knows his audience eats that stuff up. And he may truly believe that black people and white people are equal, but that clearly won't stop him from throwing around racially loaded words like "uppity."
