  • Rush Disappointed About Gender Gap In His Approval Ratings, Asks "Why Don't You Like Me?"

One thing I have to complement Rush on is his policy of posting verbatim (I assume they are verbatim…) transcripts from his radio show on his website. It makes it easy for someone like me to catch up with what he's saying, without actually having to listen to his radio show. (Shudder!)

In this case, Rush has posted the relevant transcript from an event which spanned an entire three hour broadcast. He called it The EIB Network Female Summit, and it was brought into being because his latest polling numbers showed a 31% gap in his approval ratings between men and women.

31% is pretty significant. ( I find it heartening.) What is also significant is that Rush claims not to understand why women don't like him as much as men do.

Rush, I have one word for you: feminazi.

Although Rush Limbaugh may not have invented the word "feminazi," he was its primary champion and proponent of its use. For many women, the word "feminazi" is virtually synonymous with Rush Limbaugh himself.

  • Obama's "War on Prosperity" and Satellite Crash Rubbernecking

I'll be honest with you, I can't understand half of what Rush Limbaugh says. His conversations rely heavily on the listener having a rich background of Limbaugh fandom, which I do not have. Instead of making his case, he relies on his listeners to understand the history behind how Rush feels about, say, Ben Bernanke. Any given Rush statement is peppered with these conversational touchstones, which makes it a little impenetrable to those of us who aren't down with the jingo.

However, today I noticed that he has deployed a new phrase into his vocabulary. On his "stack of stuff" page, Rush refers to Obama's "War on Prosperity." He says that "[highly-paid journalists] have watched their savings evaporate as a result of Obama's War on Prosperity."

Two things strike me about this sentence.

Like vitriol much? Well, America can't seem to get enough of it and Rush Limbaugh is trully one of this nation's great originals in this department. Join us as we celebrate and discuss lovely nuggets such as:

Not my Viagra!"I've been racking my brain. I've been trying to figure out how Bob Dole's luggage got on my airplane...I told the doctor, I said, 'Look, I'm worried about the next election.' ... A misunderstanding."

--after he was detained by custom officials for possessing Viagra with a prescription made out in someone else's name.
